Carn Scathe is a 4 bedroom, middle terrace, holiday let commanding superb views over Porthgwarra Cove, just a mile from Lands End.
The property is under new ownership from July
2010; the owners will look to build upon the already excellent traditional look and feel of a Cornish fisherman's
cottage, albeit with large rooms and high ceilings. We made some major changes downstairs in Winter 2010/2011, some of the
photographs are shown below.
The cottage has several terraces with seating to relax, enjoy the view over the
Cove and cook a barbecue on long summer evenings . Three of the four bedrooms have idyllic sea views, as do the downstairs
living and dining rooms.
The South West Coast path is literally at the bottom of the garden, making the cottage an
ideal base for walkers and birdwatchers, as well as providing easy access to beaches. A private car parking space is provided
(with additional parking in the Cove car park), but access is about 100 yards away by foot. This makes it unsuitable for disabled
access.
All linen and towels (not beach) are provided and there are no additional costs for electricity and heating.
Sky TV (Sport and entertainment plus standard channels) and wireless broadband is provided. Small children should be
supervised with the various steps and terraces.
The cottage overlooks the small family friendly beach and rocks
at Porthgwarra, where seals bob up and down in the water and basking sharks can
be spotted. It is a 10 minute walk away from the stunning unspoilt beach at Porthchapel. The sheltered beach on the south coast at Porthcurno and the northern surfing beach at Sennnen Cove are both
a short drive away.
The outdoor Minack Theatre
is close by, well worth a visit to look at the spectacular theatre on the cliffs, or to see a performance during
the summer season.
If you like a family holiday, walking, wildlife or just want to get away from it all, Carn Scathe is the place for you.
